Los Cristianos was a fishing village, which was always busy and the lively harbor is the center of Los Cristianos. The village is the entrance to the islands of El Hierro, La Gomera, and La Palma. It is located on the south coast of the Tenerife. The town is around the bay of Los Cristianos, but, currently, it is developing inland with modern development. Earlier, in 1955, the Los Cristianos was a dusty, hot fishermen’s village with around 1,200 residents. Then the world realized the medicinal properties of the climate of Los Cristianos. In around forty years, the population has increased more than tenfold. Tenerife Los Cristianos soon became the most popular tourist place on the island.
Tenerife Los Cristianos – First Impressions
A Large number of cafes, restaurants, bars, and ice cream parlors are lined up on the beach. Narrow streets at the back of the seafront are also packed with nice and friendly shops. The white church is located in the plaza. It looks dazzling, and at times it becomes a focal point for concerts and fiestas. You can find cheap cigarettes shop, grocery stores, fashion stores, Souvenir shops. The place is the perfect for tourists as it offers more than what they have expected.
The sea is prominent, and it controls the life of the people as it brings daily ferries and takes the people to different places. In Los Cristianos, big apartment blocks and hotels were built in the year 1970, and the growing number of workers and tourists. But, in the year 1980, the town was expanded impressively, and the town began to attract quite a few British refugees who moved to the town semi- permanently or permanently to avoid the cold winters in British.
